Obituary for Elisabeth Fetsch Carter
Funeral services for Elisabeth Fetsch Carter will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Leesville with Reverend Craig Forque officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation time for the family and friends of Mrs. Carter will be held at the church on Thursday, October 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Carter was born February 22, 1934, and passed away October 15, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, and after marrying Ralph T. Carter Jr., she was a military wife for over twenty years. They settled at Fort Polk, and Mrs. Carter worked in housekeeping at Bayne Jones Hospital for many years. She enjoyed fishing, growing flowers, and raising pets. Most of all, Mrs. Carter loved her family.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph T. Carter Jr.; parents, Fritz Fetsch and Elisabeth Pauline Fetsch; brother, Gunter Fetsch; and sister, Margarete Fetsch.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert W. Carter of Leesville, LA and Joe D. Carter and wife Tracy of Haughton, LA,
grandchildren, Robbie Carter, Ashley Johnson and husband Scott, Carolyn Guzman, Joe D. Carter Jr. and wife Kristen, Christopher Carter, and Tiffany Carter,
great grandchildren, Kensley Craft, Dawson Carter, Maci Carter, Sutton Carter, Amelia Carter, Shelby Wade, and Brynlee Carter,
brothers, Heinz Fetsch and wife Elisabeth, Kurt Fetsch and wife Dagma, and Fritz Fetsch,
best friend, Lydia Valtierra, and a host of extended family.
